Argonne Storage & Car Wash
During the 1980’s, the industry that was beginning to get positive notice was the expanding self-storage industry on a national scale. Because of Brumback’s interest in new opportunities, he spent three years reading, gathering information, and going to seminars about this new and growing business. In 1990, Brumback began to research the industry in Spokane, WA and spent a lot of time looking for a site with the proper demographics to build the first self-storage project. During the Summer of 1991 a five acre tract of ground came available at Argonne and Montgomery in the Spokane Valley. After a year's worth of work to purchase the property, subdivide, design a project, and obtain building permits, phase 1 of Argonne Self-Storage was under construction. Phase 1 consisted of 100,000 sf of ground and six buildings totaling 40,000 sf of self-storage space and was ready for occupancy during the Fall of 1993. Phase 2 of this project consisted of 120,000 sf of ground, two storage buildings, a six bay car wash and outdoor equipment storage yard. Phase 2 was built in 1999. This site currently is the main headquarters that manages and runs the operations for the Brumback holdings.
